Officer Spotlight

MDAA Financial Chairperson

Kathy Fick CDA

Kathy completed her training as a Dental Assistant at Washtenaw Community College in 1980 and is Certified Dental Assistant. She has been a member of ADAA for 30 years and received her ADAA Life Active Membership. She was also awarded the Ruth M. Edwards Award at 2007 Annual Session. Kathy works hard and is very deserving of both awards! Her next goal is to complete the ADAA Fellowship thanks to Barb's inspiration! Congratulations Kathy!!

Kathy has a spoiled, sweet, cuddly cocker spaniel named Dari (7), is employed by U of M, and resides in Ann Arbor.

She loves the friends that she made as an officer of MDAA and hopes to continue the friendships as well as make new ones! She gained alot of experience attending MDAA meetings and traveling to Denver, San Francisco, and San Antonio as a MDAA delegate. She feels very honored to have won the Ruth M. Edwards Award and VERY proud to represent Dental Assistants in Michigan!

Her vision for Dental Assistants: She would love to see dental assistants respected as members of the dental "team". They are just as important as the other members! She would also like to see a universal credentialing and mandatory continuing education.
