Michigan Dental Foundation: A Legacy of Caring

The Michigan Dental Foundation uses philanthropy to do what you do every day, just on a larger scale. The charitable efforts are aimed at providing the people of Michigan access to care programs, oral health initiatives and dental scholarships.

In addition, the Foundation is dedicated to building a permanent, lasting legacy of support for individuals and programs designed to provide the people of Michigan with the best oral health environment in the nation. During the past year the Michigan Dental Foundation has been fulfilling many of its goals, starting at the ground level and moving upwards.

The MDF believes that the people of Michigan deserve exceptional oral health professionals. Your financial donation can help to make this happen.  * From MDA website

How Can You, a MDAA Member Help?

MDAA is looking for one hardworking and committed individual who would be willing to work on the MDA Foundation as our representative.  This member would be required to attend Foundation meetings, which are generally held in Lansing.  You would be expected to help solicit donations from members of the MDAA as well as others in the dental community.  You would need to be available during the MDA Annual Session to help sell raffle tickets and participate by working other fundraisers, such as golf outings and auctions.

In the beginning, you would not have voting privileges on the Foundation, but if you enjoyed the work and did a great job, they may invite you to have a board position.  The Foundation has raised a lot of money and has provided scholarships to student in every dental discipline.  This would be a very prestigious opportunity and would enhance your resume in regards to community involvement.

If you are interested, please contact MDAA President Tina Sprague at ksprague@wccnet.edu  You can check out information about the Foundation’s activities by going to Smilemichigan.com and clicking on the Foundation link at the bottom of the page.
